Women’s History Month OOH Campaigns

We observe Women’s History Month to celebrate and honor the contributions of women. Below are some of the creative campaigns I helped execute at OUTFRONT Media in celebration of Women’s month.

I was able to work alongside the women on my team to bring these different campaigns to life. My contributions included ideation, designing, animating, and resizing. Overall, each opportunity to design for Women’s History Month was truly inspiring and a joy to be a part of.

2022 / Lifted Up by HERstory

Many of our successes and opportunities can be pinpointed back to someone who supported, guided, and lifted us up to get there. For this Women’s History Month, we wanted to highlight today’s leading women across all industries and applaud them for the impact of their achievements. Through the illustration of a diverse group of women surrounding and lifting up our honorees, we wanted to acknowledge the women who came before them and helped make their achievements possible.

2021 / We’re Not Playing

When we think about the paper dolls of the past, oftentimes the options to dress her were limited to basic dresses and accessories that placed her in stereotypical roles. In a reimagination of the paper doll for today’s woman, we wanted to show that women can do it all.

Our Women’s HERstory campaign utilizes the paper doll aesthetic as a symbol of stereotypes being broken by modernizing the style of the illustrations. The dolls pictured showcase the wide range of attributes that make up women, from different careers and hobbies, to aspirations, to different ethnicity and sexual orientation.

2020 / #DamnRight2020

Oftentimes, there is a way in which language is used to reference women in a negative light: bossy, emotional, disruptive, etc. Taking these words, we hope to encourage and empower women by flipping it on its head and saying, “They may call you emotional but it means you are passionate!”.

My designs are intended to change the narrative often associated with women and place a bold stance on who women truly are in a positive light. While the words being erased in the background may not always be inherently negative, these are the words that are often used to bring down and dismiss women. Here, we are instead bringing power to what it means to be a confident/passionate/powerful woman.
